Dan will discuss cottage industry solutions and scaling down to local craft solutions as a way to topple the system that only works for the 1%.
if we can scale down, localize, create community resilience at home and grow and craft our own we develop local commerce which reduces our dependency on multi national corporate interest who we feed with our money.
All across the country no matter what political spectrum you are on people are calling for this, and the invasive species all across the country can help us. A true green local economy which reduces fossil fuel consumption by scaling down import and export allows for communities to develop jobs around tending the wild.
with certified kitchens linked into communities that allows for everyone to come to the table and craft their unique offerings to farmstands, farmers markets, and vending tables.
The true solution is working together to develop diverse offerings where we can then barter, trade, and sell!
things like garlic mustard or lawnmower chips, ferments, and dehydrated green smoothie powders, spoons and other wood crafts can be made from sticks that are piled up on street corners, bamboo can be crafted into thousands of items including entire lawn sets, even grass clippings can be made into cellulose and local paper products including toilet paper. Wisteria can be made into amazing baskets and wicker furniture, curly dock and plantago can be made into local crackers, and the list is endless!
All of this can diversify our community craft tables, and with it is the message to scale down, look around, and show all of the amazing examples of how nature is leading us home!
Change the cottage food laws and craft a revolution based on the economy of tending your local ecosystem and growing our way out of a dying system...
