About The Event
In this 3-week series, we will explore different practices for experiencing art as meditation.
Art allows us to express ourselves in ways that language cannot. Practices such as drawing, painting, collage, & more will be explored and used to better understand ourselves and our environment.
Meditation allows us to transmute our scattered and constant thoughts into a stream of creative potential. By dropping into the body and connecting to the guidance present within, we will be able to draw important insights and inspiration. We will explore personal, partner, and group exercises, collectively creating a safe, exploratory space for all.
Whether you are an experienced artist or a complete beginner, you will surely benefit from looking at art & meditation in a new light. You will be welcomed warmly into a supportive, non-judgmental communal experience :)
First Week: Focus on meditative drawing & writing exercises
Second Week: Focus on visualization techniques and collage
Third Week: Focus on intuitive movement & painting process
3 two-hour sessions over the course of 3 weeks | 7 - 9 PM | Wednesday Oct. 3, 10, & 17 | All ages welcome
Investment: $25 a session or $65 for all 3
Morgan Zelmer is the creator of Art Form Yoga, a synthesis of two powerful practices that she has drawn much wisdom & healing from in her life. Her explorations with this work has led her to view her entire life as art, creating beauty in all that she focuses upon. Teaching in private and workshop settings, crafting food art at Roots Cafe, & exploring a multitude of visual art mediums is how she is currently expressing herself and sharing her vision.
